Q: I have an open great room/kitchen/dining room area with tile floors.  The echo is horrible, what can I do?

A: You need to add soft materials to the room such as area rugs and curtains - it may not completely eliminate the echo but it will mute it.  Try to add dimension to flat surfaces, hang paintings, blinds, anything to break up the sound wave.

Q: I just bought a new home, what are some common mistakes I should avoid.

A: Some common mistakes would be having more than one focal point, purchasing furniture before measuring your room, buying rugs that are too small and trying to get it all done in one day!

Q: What are some design trends for 2009?

A: The trend for 2009 is to lighten and brighten!  Yellow is going to be a big color this year; other popular tones will be red, rose, blue, lavendar and green.
